ADAM'S PEAK LODGE NO. 2656 E.C.
Year of Warrant - 1897

The Lodge meets at the Victoria Masonic Temple, Colombo on Friday in the months of February, April, June and August with the Installation held in October. Except for February, the meetings are all held on the last Friday of the Month.

W.Bro. Thomas Christopher Huxley (PM St John's Lodge No. 454) under dispensation from the United Grand Lodge of England consecrated the Lodge on Saturday, 3 July 1897, at Freemasons’ Hall Hatton.

The original Warrant of the Lodge dated 9th March 1897 was destroyed by fire in 1933 and it now meets under a Warrant of Confirmation dated 3rd May 1933.

Till the seventies the lodge consisted mainly of brethren on plantations or servicing the tea industry living in the vicinity.

The lodge has had to move its hall a number of times due to various circumstances beyond its control. Fire, government takeover of the premises and remoteness of the lodges for the majority of brethren now residing in Colombo being some of the reasons.
